When we started the blog we decided to add a section for food for one reason only; to highlight how busy, working professionals can simply their lives by buying off of a predefined food list and cooking at home with simple recipes.
We immediately failed.
We tried. We came up with a good list of items and we stuck to that list for about a month. Then our priorities changed, we weren’t home a lot, then we were home a lot and things got better, but we weren’t disciplined enough to get fully back on board.
So we are going to try again. We have put together a Project 333 food list (as applied like so) and we are going to do our best to stick to it. And we’ll write about our experience here. I have a few predictions. I think we’ll eat better, our grocery shopping will be easier to manage, and we’ll save money. I don’t think we’ll save time, since we’ll be making more items from scratch. I also think we have a big challenge with eating out. More than anything else, eating out breaks our diets and our budget.
So here is our food list for the next 3 months. I’m a bit late with this post, we started this list on April 1st. So this one will be used until July 1st.
Whole wheat pasta
Multi grain Cheerios
Frozen mixed vegetables
